A Day at the Races

On Sunday we went to the Del Mar Race track for my first time. It was to celebrate Jen and Christophes birthday and what a perfect day. It's so nice to get out of the desert for a few hours and enjoy being outdoors without feeling like you're melting. They had jumpy houses and slides for the kids and food/bar booths for the adults. The kids ran around all day on the infield where we set up camp while we studied the program to make the best bet. My strategy was to pick the horse with the catchiest name. It worked for 3 races so I was happy. Here is Mark and I with one of my a winning tickets. Now, I think I won about 5 dollars because I was only betting may 2 or 3 dollars at a time. I didn't quite get the hang of it until maybe the second to last race. It was a good learning experience and I can't wait to go next year. The other is the birthday couple Jen and Christophe, and my brother Randy and Katie. They were able to meet us there and spend the day with us.
